A simple journey for your guests
Wallet is a convenient way to find the pass. It is not required to access the event.
A personal invitation by email
The guest opens the link to their invitation. They find the event details and their personal QR code.
The pass in a compatible Wallet
They add their pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet when the option is available on their device. They can also keep access to the invitation page.
The QR code at the entrance
Your team scans the QR code presented on the phone. The check result depends on the pass and the scanner’s connection status, not on whether a Wallet is used.
WHAT’S ON THE PASS
Useful information on your event pass
The pass contains the event, the guest’s identity and category, the date and time, and the venue when provided. The personal QR code is used to check entry.
Your event’s logo and colours personalise the invitation and passes, within each Wallet’s capabilities. Their appearance is not necessarily identical on iPhone and Android.
The category is information
“VIP”, “Partner” or “Guest” helps identify the person at the entrance. This label does not create a special permission or independent access to another area.
The category is displayed as text in Wallets, without a coloured circle. The information layout may vary by phone and operating system version.
THE SAME ACCESS, DIFFERENT FORMATS
Adding a pass to Wallet does not create a second invitation
The QR code on the invitation page and the Wallet pass correspond to the same personal access. Online, a recorded first admission prevents another admission with that pass, regardless of the format presented.
A Wallet does not replace the entry check
Having the pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is not proof of admission. The team must scan it. A shared QR code can also be presented by someone else: arrange an identity check if needed.
Two disconnected scanners may accept the same QR code before synchronisation. Wallet does not remove this limitation of offline checks.
EXAMPLE WORKFLOW
Camille receives her invitation to your client reception
- You confirmed her attendance elsewhere: Camille is in your imported list, with her email address.
- You send her invitation: she opens her personal page from the email.
- She chooses her format: she adds the pass to a compatible Wallet or finds the QR code on her invitation page.
- She arrives at the event: the team scans the QR code and checks the result. Adding the pass to Wallet is neither an RSVP nor a recorded entry.
Questions about invitations and Wallet passes
Do my guests need to install InviteKey?
No. They open their personal invitation and can use Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on a compatible device. No InviteKey app is needed.
Is Wallet required?
No. The guest can present the QR code from their invitation page. Adding it to Wallet is another way to keep and find their pass.
Will passes look exactly like the previews?
No. Apple and Google control part of the layout. The operating system, its version and the pass format may change the appearance. These previews are illustrative, not guaranteed screenshots.
Does adding the pass to Wallet confirm attendance?
No. InviteKey does not manage RSVPs. Adding to Wallet keeps the pass; attendance at the event is recorded when admission is scanned.
Can a Wallet pass be presented without a connection?
A pass already added can be presented from Wallet without opening the web page. Validation at the entrance then depends on the scanner: online confirmation, or provisional admission if offline fallback is allowed and its conditions are met.
