Keep checking guests in when the Internet goes down

The scanner checks with the server first. If the connection drops, you choose whether your team can continue with synchronized guest data.

Two disconnected devices can temporarily accept the same QR code. Conflicts are flagged after sync. To avoid this, choose “Require server confirmation”.

Can I use my existing Excel or CSV guest list?

Yes. Import your confirmed guest list, map its columns to InviteKey’s fields, and review the data before completing the import.

What should my file contain?

An email address for each guest and at least one identity column: first name, last name or full name. You can also import each guest’s company and category.

Can I use InviteKey after collecting confirmations elsewhere?

Yes. InviteKey takes over from your confirmed guest list to send invitations and control entry. It does not collect RSVPs.

Do guests need to install an app?

No InviteKey app is needed. Guests show the QR code from their personal invitation or add their pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on a compatible device.

Do I need to buy scanners?

No. Your team uses their phones to open the InviteKey scanner and read guests’ QR codes.

Can several people check guests in at the same time?

Yes. Each phone joins the event scanner with its PIN, a checkpoint and a device name. You can identify where each scan came from.

What happens without an Internet connection?

With the “Keep working without network” mode, chosen by default, and a list synchronised on the phone, it can record provisional admissions. They are synchronised when the connection returns. So that no admission happens without the server, choose “Require server confirmation”.

What happens if the same QR code is presented twice?

Online, the server refuses an admission that has already been recorded. Offline, each phone blocks its own duplicates, but two disconnected phones may accept the same QR code. The conflict is flagged after synchronisation.

Events using the free offer stay available for 14 days. Other offers stay available for one month. After that, we delete event and guest data unless a prior agreement outside the free offer says otherwise. We never share your guests’ data with anyone.
